Well, what is new media?
New media is a term meant to encompass the emergence of digital, computerized, or networked information and communication technologies in the later part of the 20th century. Most technologies described as "new media" are digital, often having characteristics of being manipulatable, networkable, dense, compressible, interactive and impartial.[1] Some examples may be the Internet, websites, computer multimedia, computer games, CD-ROMS, and DVDs. New media is not television programs, feature films, magazines, books, or paper-based publications.[2] - Wikipedia definition
For me, new media is all about connecting, one way or another. New Media had allowed us with tremendous changes and growth opportunities. It has given a new dimension to employers and marketers. Everyone is able to connect with each other. Many people have used to personal means, while others are more concerned with business aspect of it. Digital media allows many company, employers and workers to have an easy and accessible way communicating among themselves. Online communicating has become an easier, attractive, time saving and reliable source. Emails, Text messages, Instant messages, Social networking, and online media are great privilages of this century. But I believe that new media has also pushed as further into privacy issues. Internet users no longer have any privacy. But new media has also become a neccessity for Generation Y as well as others.
